The centerpiece of Expo 2020, Al Wasl was, and continues to be, the largest projection experience in the world.  Standing at 221ft in height with a diameter of 427ft, the projection surface area is over 273,000 sqft. 252 laser projectors painted the trellis dome with an 360º experience every night.

Obscura Digital was one of the few firms in the world with the capabilities to design this experience when it was tapped by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture to design the projection system.

In 2018, 13th Eye founder Jay Ho led Obscura's subsequent bid to realize the design, while serving as Technical Producer at the firm.
